Foundations for Building
Successful Students
Welcome to LifeWorks Schools, a network of coed residential and day schools for students in elementary, middle, and high school. Our mission is to provide intensive therapeutic programming in an environment that inspires academic success and personal growth.
Programs
Through academic instruction and counseling services, the Emotional and Learning Support Program helps students improve academic success, develop positive coping and leadership skills, gain positive socialization skills and reduce behavioral health symptoms.
The Autism Spectrum Disorder Program provide research-based behavioral analysis and educational programs to middle and high school students with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The Internalizing and School Refusal Behavior (ISRB) Program serves to address school refusal behavior. The program provides a secure classroom environment designed to increase student attendance and promote educational and socio-emotional achievement.
The Externalizing and Conduct Disorder Program (ECD) assists students as they develop skills in problem solving, anger management, accepting responsibility and communication skills. The program teaches students about conflict resolution and appropriate assertiveness.
The Extended School Year (ESY) program is open to students with ESY indicated on their individualized education plan. These students may have academic or emotional challenges that require a structured summer program to minimize regression during the summer break.
Services
The primary goal of the “Best in Class” Academic Accountability System is to measure and report on the academic achievement of the students enrolled in each one of our highly specialized programs. It serves to raise student achievement and prepare every learner for post-secondary opportunities.
Our clinical team offers intensive therapeutic services in an environment that inspires academic success and personal growth. We provide group therapy for 45 minutes every other day and individual counseling led by master’s level certified secondary school counselors as needed.
Community-based instruction is a vital component of our autism spectrum disorder programs. It is designed to help students develop the necessary skills to independently navigate their community, engage in social communication and acquire employment skills.
We are committed to ensuring all students have access to healthy meals. In accordance with Pennsylvania Department of Education regulations, we offer school breakfast and lunch options. We also offer applications for parents who may qualify for federal and state free/reduced status.
Transition services are designed to assist students in making a successful change from secondary to post-secondary life. Our student-centered approach gives students the support they need to achieve their post-secondary goals.

“LifeWorks gave me the support that I needed so badly. I was able to immediately connect with much of the student body because we could all relate to each other. The teachers are very understanding and will do anything to help you succeed and make the most of your education. My life has changed drastically from being at LifeWorks and I now have a successful career in real estate.”

Testimonials
“Before LifeWorks, my severe anxiety made it nearly impossible to get myself to school, and I was starting to take steps to drop out. Giving LifeWorks a chance was the best decision that I have ever made. The LifeWorks staff taught me to manage my anxiety, helped me catch up on almost a year’s worth of missed work, and graduate on time! Using the copingskills that I acquiredat LifeWorks, I was also able to continue my education, graduate from college with honors, and now have a successful career in business. I will be forever grateful to LifeWorks for giving me the life that I have today.”

Testimonials
Our son came to you in great need, having been bruised by experiences at another school, deeply anxious, afraid to trust that school could be a positive place for him. We watched him go from downcast to once again thudding through the house with more of a lift to his face–and feet! His grades rose to a place reflecting his intellect, and he made new friends. We will always be grateful for your help in bringing our son back to himself, for helping him begin to overcome his deep anxiety and his struggle to accept his condition while seeking to overcome its limitations. We highly recommend LifeWorks as a school.
